Killens Pond was our campground of choice during the weekend of Firefly festival.

We arrived at night which left me unaware of my surroundings until morning. Nestled in the trees the RV sat while plugged in to water and electricity. There were bathrooms and hot showers in a building not far from our spot in section D. Just through the trees I could glimpse sparkles from the pond.

Killens Pond is circled by well maintained trails, a dock, and a boat launch. Kayaks and canoes can be rented nearby. The water is beautiful and brings a cool breeze into the campground.

Just a short walk from our spot James found chicken of the woods mushrooms, which are safe to eat if you like wild mushrooms. One night we got some firewood from the campground and cooked a meal over the fire.

Asparagus, plantains, and green onions

I would highly recommend Killens Pond Campground. There were people with RVs and people with tents, and there are cabins to rent as well.
